He also mentions cardamom, which he says is helpful for cardiovascular health, stimulating blood circulation, freshening the breath, and relaxing the body. Keyes says it’s also gently uplifting, warming and antidepressant. Fennel is another incredible plant. The Naturopathic Herbalist, Dr. Marisa Marciano, shares that fennel is relaxing and stimulating at the same time. Then of course, there’s assam - the full body behind this tea. Assam (Camellia Sinensis Assamica) is a black tea grown in India. An incredible and well-known plant, there are innumerable studies on the plant’s potent properties. An article in the National Library of Medicine, written by Singh BN (et. al.) says that Black tea leaves are reported to contain thousands of bioactive constituents such as polyphenols, amino acids, volatile compounds, and alkaloids that exhibit a range of promising pharmacological properties. Due to strong antioxidant property, black tea inhibits the development of various cancers by regulating oxidative damage of biomolecules. Needless to say, it’s a powerhouse of a plant.
